About Us
We’ve been teaching life saving skills to the people of North West Ke
nt for more than 30 years.
Our volunteer instructors - all trained to Royal Life Saving Society and British Heart Foundation standards – work for a variety of emergency, medical and water-based organisations including the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, and the Port of London Authority.
We meet for two hours every Sunday at Cygnet Leisure Centre in Northfleet, Kent. Also, during the summer, we train with Sheerness Swimming and Lifeguard Corps on one of the Isle of Sheppey’s main beaches.
Our courses not only teach crucial life saving and survival techniques, but also boost fitness, and enhance swimming skills.
In the wider community, Gravesham Life Saving Club provides free training for the general public including Save a Baby, Community Life Support, and Heartstart.
The club has around 30 members, a number of whom work as professional pool and beach lifeguards.
If you’re older than 10, can complete our water based assessment (details of which will be given prior to joining) then get in touch.
